Christmas Tree 2.0 is up. If you’ve been around, you’ll know that last year’s tree was the first time I had ever decorated a Christmas Tree and it was also when I learned from @jewelsgfamily that there’s always room for more ornaments. 🤣 In the last year we have acquired a few more ornaments and put up everything that was on the tree last year, so there’s always room for more. Come say Hi to my Charlie Brown Christmas tree when you stop by our Lake Highlands location! 🎄(I now have two #oreo ornaments 😂)

This is the best sight to see once all is done. We hold all of your preorder tickets in a deli, separated by location, separated by pickup day. When all orders are packed, I love seeing an empty deli, it signifies all orders have been packed and we didn't screw anything up! 😍🤣😍🤣

North Texas restaurants become food drop-off sites amid SNAP delays.

Richardson-based nonprofit @arkearthorg has partnered with Staff Meal by @pieholeproject and participating restaurants to launch the SNAP Back Food Drive, supporting North Texans experiencing food insecurity even after the government shutdown ended. Arkearth Inc.’s mission is focused on food security and pollinator protection. Staff Meal is a Dallas-based hospitality and culinary relief initiative

Even with the shutdown over, SNAP recipients will not receiving benefits in a timely manner that will leave many North Texans without consistent access to food.

The SNAP Back Food Drive mobilizes restaurants as neighborhood drop-off hubs to keep essential groceries flowing to families at risk.

The initiative began swiftly and will continue until needs are met. Donation bins are currently accessible daily.

Requested items include pasta; canned fruits and vegetables; dried beans and rice; stuffing mixes; powdered milk; baking mixes; cooking oils; spices and seasonings; crackers; healthy snacks; personal items; and feminine products.

Our Lake Highlands location is a drop off site along with the following
restaurants:

Following this celebration, a live concert presented by @Pepsico at Cotton Bowl Stadium featuring #janetjackson and #blakeshelton will end the night!

@meat_fight was tonight and they raised a lot of money for the fight against #multiplesclerosis. We fought in the Sweet Fight Cookies competition. We made a Smoked Brookie S’mores, and took home both Judge’s and People’s Choice! 💪🎉🎉🎉

Fall is slowly arriving but we’re getting ready! We just put into the case an Apple Crumble Cheesecake. Each cheesecake is full of a cinnamon apple filling and topped with a cinnamon crumble topping. It absolutely tastes like Fall! 🍂

I had so much fun doing the first one, it was giving off State Fair of Texas vibes! The birthday girl was Team Ketchup and so we put in layers of raspberry jam inside the cake! 😋

As our #lemonoliveoilcake season is winding down, we decided to make some #glutenfree ones for the weekend! Come grab them at our Lake Highlands location to savor the last taste of summer! 🍋🫐

On this day 14 years ago, @geehanee112 and I filmed his @foodnetwork Challenge episode “Sugar Inventions”. The challenge was to build a #rubegoldberg device all out of sugar! We were allowed a few non-sugar elements but 99% of this was all made out of sugar.

There were 3 teams and no one’s device worked during filming. We were the winners because ours came closest to working. The video is from after the cameras turned off, because both Gianni and I just knew it should have worked and had to make it happen even if not on air.

In my very early years in this industry, this was such a highlight to be asked to be part of. I was just a Pastry Cook at the Mandarin Oriented Hotel in Las Vegas. And one of 15 in the pastry kitchen and one with probably the least experience in the industry. I thought I wasn’t deserving to go with Gianni, and almost said no because others thought they deserved to go instead. But then I said screw it, I want to go. And the rest is history. ☺️

Gianni and I spent hours, weeks, and months practicing and getting everything right so we could accomplish everything within 8 hours.

Our Chef’s jackets from this show are hanging at each of our locations. 🤩 And if you’re lucky enough to find the episode, you will learn that Gianni and I cannot do a proper high five. 🤦🏻‍♀️😂🤦🏻‍♀️😂

We’re BAAAAACK!!!!! 🤗 Our Lake Highlands location took a much needed week off. We’re back in the kitchen doing our semi-annual cleaning and resetting.

I went to Bourbon country, so anyone interested about that trip come hit me up. As a non-Bourbon drinker I had a blast! Some took road trips to Alabama and Austin. And some stayed and danced their butts off for the @lhhighlandettes or caught up on their reading goals. Either way we all relaxed and are recharged for the rest of 2025!

We had a full house in yesterday’s Kid’s Cookie Pies and Cookie Sandwiches class! Sugar was enjoyed by all and even more was sent home with each student! We don’t have another Cookie Pies and Cookie Sandwiches class on the books yet, but we have availability for our 7/18 All Things Chocolate class. Students will be using the stove and oven and must be comfortable cooking on a stove. Students will be making from scratch chocolate flourless cakes and chocolate pot de creme. Everything they make in class will go home with them! So plan for a party at the house to share all of the goodies with friends and family!
